2017 – a reflection

Holy shit.

What a year it’s been.

My biggest accomplishment this year, and in my life so far, was giving birth to the most amazing baby girl. Archer has brought so much joy and love to Mark and I, it’s truly difficult to imagine how we ever lived without her.  She was the last goal I wanted to reach before turning 30. She gives me a billion things to look forward to, she inspires me to set more goals for my future, and she makes my life better.

I don’t think I’ve had a busier, more exciting, more challenging or more rewarding year in my life. I faced a lot of obstacles; from moving to a new city where I knew no one, to  giving birth to my first child (about 36 hours of labour, thank you very much).

I learned a lot about myself this year and I hope to continue my journey of self-discovery in the new year. Motherhood is a big part of that, but so is my career… what do I want to do next? Where do I want to be?  I have a feeling that 2018 will be anther one for the books!

To my friends and family:

There are not enough words (or emojis) in the universe to express my ample gratitude to you. Thank you for making 2017 my best and most exciting adventure yet.

Cheers to the wonderful people in my life, old and new. May the new year bring you more satisfaction, more laughter, less stress, and less grief. I’m thinking of all of you and sending you hugs from Boston.

Come visit!  I promise it will be a highlight of your 2018 😉
