Fall for this

Smell that? The subtle scent of fall is creeping through the air and I am so grateful. Fall is definitely my favourite season. The temperature is perfect, the air smells crisp and inviting and I get to dig out those cute and comfy clothes I’ve had packed away since May.

As a proud Canadian who genuinely loves the season and all it has to offer, I like to celebrate fall with a few classic items:

Davids Tea Pumpkin Chai. If you haven’t tried it already, I insist you march over to the nearest Davids Tea now and buy a tin. It’s like pumpkin pie in a cup. Trust me. This sweet black tea is only available when fall rolls around and as soon as it’s back, I buy 100 grams to last me until the winter collection arrives. No sugar necessary. Add just a splash of milk and you’ll be in the mood for fall.

Price: $15.96 *before tax for 100g plus you get a free tin!

Roots Original Sweatpant. I prefer the “Salt and Pepper” colour, but there are other options available. These pants are on the second I get in the door after work. Durable and so so soft, they’re a wardrobe staple for us Canadian gals.

Hudson’s Bay fleece throw. I received mine as a gift a few years ago and I love it so much that I gifted a couple to other people. If you’re into the HBC Stripes collection but don’t want to break the bank, their fleece throws are a great addition to any Canadian living room/bedroom/any room, really. Watch for sales and you can get a great deal.

Felt floppy hat. Super trendy but also so fun to wear, except maybe when it’s windy. You can find a hat like this at almost any clothing/accessories store, but the prices vary quite a bit. With items like this, I’m not about to break the bank. I got my hat for a great deal at Aldo Accessories a couple of years ago and they still sell the same model. It looks great with a light anorak jacket or chunky fall sweater and a bright-coloured scarf!

Price: $35 *before tax

Ankle boots. Preferably in the cognac colour, because it’s more fall-esque, am I right? I bought a pair of cognac ankle boots from Call It Spring last year and they were a great deal for faux-leather foot candy. They’re also very comfortable and look great with jeans.

Price: $74.99 *before tax

Fall products are always fun, but another wonderful thing about fall in Canada is the views. If you’re in the Toronto area, I highly recommend taking a stroll through High Park when the leaves are changing. There is something so peaceful and invigorating about a fall walk on a weekend afternoon.
